All About Visiting

The Magic Castle is an exclusive private club. You must be a member or have a guest card from a member-in-good-standing to gain admittance.

Please read and follow our dress code and rules. You must have your guest card with you when you arrive at the Magic Castle!

Reservations for dinner are required, and we suggest that you call at least one week in advance for weekdays or at least six to eight weeks in advance for a Friday or Saturday evening. We take phone reservations Monday through Saturday from 8:00AM until 10:00PM and Sunday from 8:00AM until 5:30PM.

Be sure that you have your guest card handy when you call for reservations; you will need the member's name and number. Dinner is served at the Magic Castle in an atmosphere of Victorian elegance. Dinner seatings are at 6:00PM, 8:00PM, and 9:45PM. Entreés range from simple but elegant pastas to luxurious New York steak. The Magic Castle's menu also includes excellent seafood and vegetarian fare. A wide range of beverages are available, from full bar service and a well-stocked wine cellar to espresso and cappuccino.

For guests, visiting on weekends, occasionally the Magic Castle offers guidance and assistance from the Castle Knights. The Castle Knights are a group of volunteer members who offer assistance in planning and learning about the Magic Castle during your visit. They provide tours and anecdotes to all visitors to the Magic Castle. If a Castle Knight is on duty, tours begin at 5:00PM. Castle Knights when on premises can be found in the Grand Salon as they greet guests upon their entrance.

Your night at the Magic Castle would not be complete without magic! The Magic Castle hosts five different magic shows in three showrooms (the schedule of performers for the next six weeks is available here).
  • The Close-up Gallery presents masters of the art of close-up magic, in the smallest of the Castle theaters (seating only 22 guests). Two different performers appear in the Close-up Gallery: Early, Early (Thursday- Sunday) - 5:00PM, 5:30PM, 6:00PM and 6:30PM, Early - 7:00PM, 7:45PM, 8:30PM and 9:15PM, Late – 10:00PM, 10:45PM, 11:30PM and 12:30PM. Because of the size of this theater, we recommend that you get in line at least one-half hour before your desired show.
  • The Parlour of Prestidigitation recreates the Victorian experience of the "parlour" (living room) magician. Your magician will appear at 7:15PM, 8:15PM and 9:15PM and then at 10:15PM, 11:15PM and 12:30PM.
  • The Palace of Mystery hosts grand illusion and other stage performers. One show is presented in the Palace at three different times: 8:30PM, 10:00PM and 11:30PM. Dinner guests have preferential seating in the Palace of Mystery.
  • Peller (Friday- Sunday Only for Peller) 8:30PM, 10:00PM and 11:30PM
  • W.C. Fields (Thursday- Sunday) 7:00PM-11:00PM Thursday Only. 8:00PM-12:00AM Friday- Sunday.

Driving directions to the Magic Castle are available here.

Evening performances at the Hollywood Bowl or the Dolby Theater mean increased traffic on Highland, which can significantly affect your travel time to the Magic Castle. We recommend that you check the schedule for the Bowl and the Kodak when planning your drive time to the Magic Castle. On heavy-traffic nights, you might consider ridesharing; the more adventurous may enjoy the MTA's Red Line, with a rail stop a few short blocks from the Castle at Hollywood and Highland.
