MIKE BENT
Two for one! In addition to being a comedy magician, Mike Bent teaches Emerson College students that are writing for some of the biggest forces in comedy today, including The Daily Show and The Colbert Report. His “Comedy Writing: 101" lecture will be a hands-on workshop about adding original comedy to your act and training your brain to “think funny.” The second half of the lecture will include comedy routines for the kid-show, parlor and close-up performer. Attendees will learn effects that will not only fool and entertain the pants off audiences, but will “fry” magicians as well. Offering Allan’s new set of lecture notes, this lecture covers over 15 new items with a great new way to do a mental thought of card-to-pocket – with no palming. If you appreciate or perform stage magic, this is a lecture for you. Kenji will be talking about his silk magic and the magic of producing a silk, a rose, and a glass of liquid from a newspaper. He will also talk about how he creates his new magic based on old magic and how he solves the problems that arise as he creates his own magic.
