The purpose of the Academy of Magical Arts is to encourage and promote public interest in the art of magic with particular emphasis on preserving its history as an art form, entertainment medium, and hobby. Magicians and magic enthusiasts around the world have come to know the Castle as the ultimate magic clubhouse and home of the Academy of Magical Arts, Inc.
When you become a member, the Magic Castle becomes your Magic Castle. You and your guests can enjoy the unique talents of the Magic Castle’s world-class performers and dine in Victorian Splendor. Members also enjoy a special Friday lunch, as well as Saturday and Sunday brunches which are a treat for the whole family. Membership also brings admission to a wide variety of members-only events.
As a member, you also have the privilege of issuing guest passes to your friends and business associates so they too can visit the Castle. Magician members can also take advantage of the Magic Castle’s extensive library of books, videos, DVDs, and periodicals exploring the world of the magical arts, and can attend lectures presented by some of the world’s foremost experts in the world of magic.

Junior Magician Members are qualified young magicians between the ages of 13 & 20 years-old who are actively practicing magic at an exceptionally high level for their age having auditioned before the Academy’s Junior Committee. Alumni of the program include successful & award-winning artists such as Dirk Arthur, Bill Goodwin, Neil Patrick Harris, Christopher Hart, Kevin James, Mark Kalin and Michael Weber.
The Academy’s Junior Society provides mentoring for gifted and dedicated young magicians between the ages of 13 & 20 years-old in order to develop their magical interests and prowess through exposure to leading professionals in the field, performance workshops designed to improve skills & technique, and a network for meeting and interacting with others who possess similar interests.
Junior Members attend monthly meetings that include sessioning with other members & mentors, special lectures and educational activities designed for the group. Additionally, junior members enjoy many of the same private club benefits as regular magician members including access to the Magic Castle® during weekend brunches, the privilege of inviting guests, access to the media library, attending Sunday magician members only lectures, and they can qualify for performance opportunities during regular weekend brunch shows and in the evenings during the annual Future Stars of Magic Week.
Membership in the Junior Society is very limited and is by audition only. Auditions are held biannually in March and September (subject to change) and those between the ages of 13 & 19 are eligible. The audition consists of either a close-up or stage magic performance in front of the Junior Committee. There is a strict five-minute time limit on all auditions and anyone exceeding this limit will be automatically disqualified. Those who are disqualified or are not accepted into the program are encouraged to return and try out again at a future audition. Decisions regarding acceptance are at the sole discretion of the Junior Committee and are based upon the performer’s creativity, originality, technical proficiency & depth of knowledge of magic.
