Tom Ogden has twice been voted “Parlour Magician of the Year” by the Academy of Magical Arts and has received a dozen additional nominations – ten for “Close-up Magician of the Year” and two as “Lecturer of the Year.” He’s been a member of the Academy for more than thirty years and is currently serving on the Board of Trustees. Tom is also the author of two books on magic for the general public: “The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Magic Tricks” and “The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Street Magic.”
All of Tom’s classes highlight magic that can be performed with everyday objects. His level 1 classes introduce students to entry-level tricks and ‘secret moves’ using playing cards, coins, and other common items. There are plenty of easy-to-master effects as well, where the emphasis is on timing, patter, and presentation. Level 2 teaches more challenging sleight-of-hand and offers more sophisticated routines, but still within the grasp of the relative novice.
